LbE Global Leaders (LGL)
〜LbE Japanとともに Global Village を創り出すパートナー〜
プログラムの「場」を提供する LbE Japanとともに Global Village を創り出し、参加者との協働を通じて学びと気づきを生み出す、行動力と思いの溢れる留学生（リーダー）によって運営されるコミュニティが LbE Global Leaders (LGL) です。
LbE Japan のミッションに賛同し、プログラムをきっかけに集まり、Global Village を主体的に運営する留学生（リーダー）たちが集うコミュニティLbE Global Leaders (LGL) には、現在、101カ国、907名 の留学生（リーダー）が所属しています。
自分自身がこれまでの経験を通じて得た学び、成長をより良い世界の実現に役立てるために日々の課題に取り組む熱い思いを「自分の言葉」で伝え、参加者からも学びを得ることに意義を見出し、主体的に活動を続けながらそのネットワークと活躍の場を広げています。

Global Villageシリーズのプログラムは、LGLメンバーの存在なくしては参加者の皆さんに届けることができません。私たちLbE Japanスタッフが企画・デザインしたプログラムにLGLメンバーの思いが加わることで、現場でより良いプログラムとしてカタチにすることを実現してくれる。そんな存在が、彼らLGLのメンバーたちです。
Without out LGL (LbE Global Leaders), we would not be able to extend our Global Village programs to our participants. As LbE Japan staff, the programs we produce keep LGL at its focus as it’s members make our wonderful programs come alive.
参加者の皆さんにとって世界中から集まった留学生と過ごせる時間は貴重なものだと思います。限られた時間の中で参加者の皆さんに1つでも多くの気づきと学びを持ち帰ってもらいたい私たちの思いに共感した留学生の集まりがLGLであり、一人一人の気持ちと行動が作用しあって私たち（LbE×LGL）が提供しているGlobal Villageシリーズがカタチとなります。
It is our strong belief that the time spent with LGL International Students is a very valuable experience. Even in the limited amount of time that participants spend with LGL members, we strive for them to take away as much Global learning and awareness as possible. The LGL members having the same mindset, make our program possible.
7年前に東京にオフィスが設立されてから、関東エリアを中心としたLGLの基盤作りをアルゼンチン出身のSolと共に進めてきました。プログラムの現場を通して、思いをもった留学生をみつけるところから始まり、より良いプログラム作りのために彼らが主体者となって進めるトレーニングの場を定期的に作るサポートをしながら、彼らとの関係性の構築に努めてきました。また、プログラムの現場自体が私たち含め、彼ら自身にとっても気づきと学びの場であり、より良いプログラムを提供していくための試行錯誤を繰り返しながら、関東エリアでは2週間に1回以上の頻度でプログラムを実施するまでに至りました。
Since our office in Tokyo was established seven years ago, we have been working with Sol from Argentina to build the foundations of LGL centered in the Kanto area. It began from gathering International Students who understood the value of our programs. From there, establishing regular trainings to support these members in operating the programs independently. This process created a strong relationship with the LGL member international students. In addition, actual programs were also a place for great awareness and learning. With repeated trial and error methods to cultivate better programs and leaders, we are now able to expand in offering our programs once or twice a week in the Kanto Area.
思いをもったLGLメンバーから口コミによって広がるコミュニティ“LbE Global Leaders”は強固なものになりつつありますが、日本に一時的に滞在している留学生ですので、メンバーは常に変化します。そんな環境の中でもプログラムでより多くのものを持ち帰っていただけるよう、常に思いをもったLGLメンバーと一緒にプログラムを提供していくことが私たちの課題であり、この上なくやりがりのある挑戦です。
Our LGL members eventually began to spread the word to expand & create a strong LGL community. The main challenge we face is the limited amount of time our LGL members spend in Japan and our ever-changing members. In such an environment, it is always a challenge to provide programs with LGL members who always have our core values in mind while also guaranteeing the quality of the program. Because of this challenge we feel this makes our programs unique and diverse in nature.

1. How would you describe your experience participating in LGL？
LGLでの活動を通じてどんな経験ができましたか。
(Kevin): I had the honor of floating around from group to group, learning about the international leaders and their unique history and culture, also while learning about the Japan participants. I found the program to be interesting and understood the importance for participants to gain global awareness and cross-cultural awareness.
活動している各グループの様子を見学できたことで、日本の参加者の皆さんについてだけでなく、留学生自身や彼らの出身国の歴史、文化についても学ぶことができました。このようなプログラムを通して、参加者の皆さんが国際意識や異文化への気づきを得ることが大切だと強く感じました。
(Ai): I met many wonderful and inspiring people through LGL. I could learn other culture and widen my point of view by joining LGL program.
LGLを通して多くの素晴らしい、刺激を与えてくれる人たちに出会いました。このプログラムに参加することで異文化について学び、自身の視野を広げることができました。
(Yaya): LGL is the place where to connect people and to hear the inspirational stories from those who are working towards their dreams. As a leader, I enjoyed the cultural sharing with not only students but also other leaders from all over the world that always coming with positive and strong reflections. Happiness, adventure and future are the key words that can summarize this amazing experience.
LGLは人々をつなげ、夢に向かって突き進んでいる人々に出会える場所です。留学生リーダーとして参加し、日本の参加者の皆さんだけでなく、世界中から集まった志の高い留学生達と文化的背景を共有することを楽しみました。「幸福、冒険、未来」はここでのかけがえのない経験を要約したキーワードです。
2. What made you want to bring the program to your home country?
このプログラムを母国でも実現したいと思ったきっかけは？
(Kevin): I realized the potential and attractiveness of Hawaii as a place to learn about cultural diversity, “aloha spirit” (peace in Hawaii), and the unique Japanese immigration history. I felt that Hawaii would be a very educational place for Japanese participants to learn more about cross-cultural awareness and communication to become future global leaders. Due to the existing large amount of Japanese ancestry and tourism, I felt that Hawaii would be a comfortable location away from Japan to act as a first step towards gaining global awareness and leadership.
ハワイは、多様性、アロハスピリット（ハワイにおける「平和」）、日本人の移民の歴史について学ぶことができる場所として可能性と魅力を秘めていることに気づきました。日本の参加者の皆さんが異文化理解やコミュニケーションについて学び、未来のグローバルリーダーになるためにとても教育的価値のある場所です。日系人や日本からの観光客も多くいることから、ハワイは国際意識やリーダーシップ獲得に向けた最初の一歩を踏み出す場所としてとても適していると感じています。
(Ai): Because I want to give the other people the same opportunities to widen their knowledge about diversity and other people culture. There are many things you can learn and get inspired through communicate and interact with other people from different country/culture.
多様性や異文化についての知識を広げてもらえるような同じ機会を他の人たちにも提供したいと思いました。このプログラムには多様な国から集まった人たちとのコミュニケーションや交流を通じて学べることや刺激を受けることがたくさんあります。
(Yaya): To share the world and happiness is the reason I would like to bring LGL to Taiwan. Through the LGL program, I would like to encourage young people to go out from their little world toward the real big world. It is also a happy time for leaders that could share and interact with young people. Do something and get some fun experiences here and there with people who might be your best friends in the future.
世界観と幸福を分かち合うために台湾でのプログラムを実施したいと考えていました。プログラムを通して、若い人たちに彼らの中の小さな世界からリアルな大きな世界へと旅立つ自信を与えたいです。また、若い参加者たちと触れあう機会は留学生にとっても喜ばしい時間です。このプログラムの活動を通じて楽しい経験を共にした人たちは将来、かけがえのない友人になるでしょう。
3. How would you describe your program in your home country?
母国ではどんなプログラムに取り組んでいますか。
(Kevin): My programs in Hawaii (LbE Hawaii) take advantage of the natural beauty of the islands, not just the beautiful scenery, weather, and sunsets; but also the beauty of the local people, their culture, and history. Through collaboration with the local people (our “Islander” student staff of the University of Hawaii), participants will learn how a culturally diverse environment could lead to peace. LbE Hawaii’s programs brings out the best in all participants, giving everyone a realization of their inner potentials and how they could make a difference in society.
ハワイ（LbE Hawaii）では、美しい風景や気候、サンセットだけでなく、現地の人々や文化、歴史の良いところ、島の自然の美しさを活用しながらプログラムに取り組んでいます。現地の人々（主にハワイ大学に通う学生＝アイランダー）との協働を通じて、参加者の皆さんは「文化的に多様な環境からどのように平和を導き出すのか」について学びます。LbE Hawaiiのプログラムはすべての参加者の皆さんに、内なる可能性、そして、社会をいかに変化させることができるか？の気づきを提供するためにベストを尽くしています。
(Ai): I create a program called Global Edu-Tourism for students (mainly Junior and Senior High School Students) in Indonesia. The purpose of this program is to introduce other culture and make them feel the culture shock and culture differences to widen their point of view of the world and enhance their global leadership skills.
インドネシアで主に中学高校生を対象としたGlobal Edu Tourismというプログラムを創りました。このプログラムは異文化に触れ、カルチャーショックや文化の違いを感じることで、世界に対しての視野を広げ、グローバルリーダーシップのスキルを高めることを目的としています。
(Yaya): As the LGL Japan, we also have a team who is engaging on LGL program in Taiwan. In Taiwan, we would like to make the program more multilingual. Aside from the body language, English is the initiative language that is able to break the point to know more about each other. Can you image how much fun it will have if you and the leader can speak a little Mandarin Chinese and maybe French too!
LGLは日本だけではなく、台湾にもチームがあります。台湾でのプログラムはさらに多言語化させたいと考えています。ボディーランゲージの他に、英語はお互いを知るために率先して利用されますが、北京語や、もしかしたらフランス語でも留学生と話すことができたらどんなに楽しいか想像できますか？
